Did you know Marijuana is Racist!!!! At this point it should come as no surprise that “everything is racist”, because Social Justice Lunatics have told us that “Everything is Racist”. However, even the dumbest SJW’s cringed a little today when a Halifax Councillor Calls Out ‘Marijuana’ as a Racist Term that should never be used. Especially by people with “White Privilege”……
Why Marijuana Term is “Problematic”
In typical fashion Councillor, Shawn Cleary, who probably has a degree in Lesbian Dance Theory, chairs a committee dealing with implementing cannabis regulation within Nova Scotia as legalization approaches in July 2018. He said:
“It was intentional to demonize the marginalized folks they didn’t like very much to make white people feel good about banning this drug,” Cleary told Halifax Today. “If there is a racist origin to the word, we should know about that and be aware of it when we use it.”
Is There Any Truth To His Claims
The short answer is “Sort Of”, but it was not to demonize Mexicans or African Americans, it was meant to demonize anyone who wanted to use the drugs. Keep in mind it had NOTHING to do with race, and everything to do with money.
Marketing, Fear, Lobbying Efforts
In case you don;t know the history, the government and titans of industry knew that moving away from traditional textiles would put a serious dent in the wealth of the ruling families of the time. To prevent this they did the same way companies do today, they launched a well funded marketing campaign to change public perception, invested millions in lobbying congress, and they ultimately ensured laws were passed to secure their interests.
Reefer Madness – 1936
In case you needed any other evidence or convincing, check out “Reefer Madness” which is an amazing film. it Portrays marijuana smokers as crazy, insane, and even murderers. I’m not kidding, in this film they show people smoking pot, and killing people and literally jumping out of windows. It’s amazing.
William Randolph Hearst & Politics
William Randolph Hearst put millions of dollars behind a campaign to ensure marijuana was made illegal so he could continue to profit from his businesses, and the hemp business would be essentially banned.
We are still suffering the affects of his campaign today, and I encourage everyone to google more about this story, and you can read some about it here: Meet The Man Responsible For Marijuana Prohibition
